Power & Promise Fund for Student Aid

The Power & Promise fund for student aid ensures that qualified students, regardless of financial resources, can take full advantage of a GW education.

Student aid helps reduce the loan burdens of GW graduates so the cost of their education will not limit their ability to make their mark on the world, no matter their area of study or professional path. Show your commitment to the power of education and the promise of tomorrow's leaders.

"I think there's something incredible about someone who, without having met you, is willing to say that, 'your dreams are my dreams, and my resources are your resources'."

Sara Pool, BA '16, [with her scholarship donor Janet Lambert]

"I've always wanted to be a nurse practitioner, and I've always wanted to work in my community, and this [scholarship] is allowing me to do that."

Victoria Hevener, BSN '16, [with her scholarship donors Dr. Ellen Dawson, Professor Emeritus, and Howard W. Dawson, U.S. Navy (Ret.)]

Marwan Sulaiman, ESIA '14

“By providing me with the opportunity to follow my passion—something I once thought I could never afford to do—the Elsie M. Carper Scholarship Fund makes a difference in my life every day.”

Ensure that Cost is Not a Barrier

Financial aid is more important now than at any time in the university's history. Our success as an institution depends on making it possible for the most talented students to come to GW and to thrive. Power & Promise represents an affirmation of the future, and an investment not just in the lives of those receiving scholarships and fellowships, but in the lives of all who will be touched by the achievements of these students.

GW has made tremendous strides in strengthening our commitment to financial aid, today supporting nearly two-thirds of all undergraduate students with need- or merit-based financial assistance, and establishing scholarship and fellowship programs for students in graduate and professional programs.

Your generous support makes it possible for the most talented students to come to GW, choose a field of study not determined by its future income, and receive an education enhanced by our location in Washington, D.C.

Funds raised through the campaign will enable GW to make tremendous strides in ensuring that cost is not a barrier for the best and the brightest students.
